Primary Antibodies

St John's Laboratory offers more than 60,000 primary antibodies validated for western blot, immunohistochemistry, immunofluorescence, ELISA and flow cytometry — covering human, mouse, rat and 17 additional species. Our range includes rabbit and mouse monoclonal antibodies, goat and rabbit polyclonal antibodies, recombinant antibodies for lot-to-lot consistency, and KO-validated antibodies for studies requiring confirmed target specificity. All antibodies are available in standard, trial and bulk sizes; concentrates are available on selected products. For tissue section work, see our IHC-Guaranteed range. For PTM detection, browse phospho, acetyl and methyl antibodies.

Monoclonal or polyclonal?

Monoclonal antibodies target a single epitope — preferred for quantitative assays, flow cytometry and ELISA where reproducibility is critical. Polyclonal antibodies recognise multiple epitopes on the same target, giving stronger signal in IHC and IF, and greater tolerance of denatured or low-abundance proteins. See our full guide to choosing a primary antibody.
