Gene Expression And Transcription
Transcription is the first step in the process of gene expression. It consists of copying a certain gene's DNA sequence to make an RNA molecule. This is performed by RNA polymerases, a type of enzymes, that link nucleotides to create an RNA strand from a DNA template. The created pre-mRNA is later modified to create the messenger RNA.
