Labelled Proteins

Biotin-conjugated recombinant proteins produced in HEK293, CHO and insect host systems

Our labelled proteins are recombinant antigens carrying a biotin label for use in assays that rely on streptavidin capture or detection. The range covers immune receptors, ligands and cell surface markers, supplied with a choice of purification tag alongside the biotin conjugate.

How it works

Site-Specific and Chemical Biotinylation

Our labelled protein range is produced recombinantly in HEK293, CHO or insect (B.mori) host systems and conjugated to biotin, either through an Avi-tag for site-specific enzymatic biotinylation or through primary amine labelling of surface lysines. Constructs in the range are also supplied with a secondary purification tag, such as His, hFc or mFc, alongside the biotin label, so the same protein can be affinity purified and then used directly in a streptavidin-based assay format.

Why use our labelled proteins?

A choice of labelling chemistry
Products carrying an Avi-tag are biotinylated site-specifically for uniform, reproducible conjugation, while other constructs are labelled by primary amine chemistry.
Biotin paired with a purification tag
Proteins in the range are available with a His, hFc or mFc tag alongside the biotin conjugate, so the construct can be affinity purified and used in streptavidin-based capture.
A choice of expression host
The range is produced predominantly in HEK293 cells, with a portion produced in CHO cells and a smaller number in insect (B.mori) systems.
Purity and QC data supplied
Each product datasheet states the expression host and reports purity, determined by SDS-PAGE or SEC-HPLC.
Where they're used

Typical applications

ELISA capture and detection
Biotinylated proteins in the range pair with streptavidin-coated plates for use as capture or detection reagents, with ELISA listed as a validated application on selected products.
Streptavidin-based binding assays
The biotin conjugate suits immobilisation on streptavidin sensor surfaces for label-free binding and kinetics work.
Flow cytometry
Biotinylated antigens can be paired with streptavidin-fluorophore conjugates for use in flow cytometry staining protocols.
Western blot
A subset of the range lists WB as a validated application, with the biotin label detected using streptavidin-HRP conjugates.
