Monoclonal Secondary Antibodies

Rabbit Monoclonal Secondary Antibodies

Raised in rabbit against a defined immunoglobulin class, subclass or fragment

Our rabbit monoclonal secondary antibodies are produced from a single hybridoma clone raised against a defined immunoglobulin target, giving each antibody a reproducible epitope. Our range currently includes 20 rabbit monoclonal secondary antibodies, with many resolving individual immunoglobulin subclasses or Fc/Fab fragments across human, mouse, cynomolgus monkey and goat immunoglobulin.

How it works

Hybridoma-Based Production in a Rabbit Host

Our rabbit monoclonal secondary antibodies are generated by immunising rabbits with a purified immunoglobulin target, then fusing antibody-producing B cells from the rabbit with myeloma cells to form a hybridoma. The resulting hybridoma is cultured to produce a secondary antibody that recognises a single, defined epitope. Within this range, many clones are raised against a specific immunoglobulin subclass (for example IgG1, IgG2, IgG3, IgG4, IgM, IgA, IgD or IgE) or against a specific antibody fragment (Fc or Fab), rather than against the whole immunoglobulin molecule.

Why use rabbit monoclonal secondary antibodies?

✓ Subclass and fragment specific
Many clones in this range target a single immunoglobulin subclass (IgG1, IgG2, IgG3, IgG4, IgM, IgA, IgD or IgE) or a specific fragment (Fc or Fab), letting a subclass or fragment be detected without cross-reactivity to the others.
✓ Ready-to-use HRP conjugation
19 of the 20 products in this range are supplied HRP-conjugated, ready for direct use in colorimetric or chemiluminescent detection without a separate labelling step.
✓ Specificity data on the product page
Product pages in this range include ELISA dose response data showing binding to the target subclass alongside minimal cross-reactivity to related subclasses, so specificity can be checked before ordering.
✓ Coverage across key research species
The range spans immunoglobulin from human, mouse, cynomolgus monkey and goat, supporting subclass-level detection across the species most used in immunoassay development.

Typical applications

✓ Subclass-specific ELISA
HRP-conjugated rabbit monoclonal secondaries are the main format used across this range for ELISA, detecting a specific immunoglobulin subclass captured or coated on the plate.
✓ Western blotting
Several clones in this range are validated for western blot, detecting a primary antibody or immunoglobulin subclass bound to the membrane.
✓ Flow cytometry and IHC-P
Selected clones in the range are also validated for flow cytometry or immunohistochemistry on paraffin sections, alongside their ELISA and western blot applications.
