IHC Guaranteed Antibodies

IHC Guaranteed Antibodies

Validated by direct immunohistochemical staining on FFPE tissue.

Primary antibodies validated for immunohistochemistry (IHC), each backed by a performance guarantee for detecting target proteins with high specificity in the applicable reactive species.

How it works

From tissue section to visible signal

Immunohistochemistry detects a target protein in situ within a formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded (FFPE) tissue section, producing a visible signal at the site of antibody binding. Antibody performance is application-specific: fixation, epitope accessibility and tissue architecture in IHC differ from the conditions in western blot or ELISA, so each antibody in this range has been validated by direct immunohistochemical staining rather than inferred from another application.

Why use IHC Guaranteed antibodies?

Removes IHC optimisation guesswork
Each antibody has already been through IHC-specific validation, so researchers can move directly into their experiment instead of first determining whether an antibody validated for another application will perform on tissue.
Positive control data included
Each antibody is tested against positive control tissue, with the staining result published directly on the product datasheet.
Backed by a product guarantee
Each antibody is guaranteed to meet the specifications on its product datasheet. If a product falls outside those stated performance criteria, our technical support team will work to resolve the issue, and qualifying products are eligible for replacement or refund.
Antibody choice matched to your model
With 3,497 antibodies spanning six host species (mouse, rabbit, rat, human, guinea pig and goat) and both monoclonal (3,292) and polyclonal (201) formats, researchers can select a host and clonality suited to their tissue model, and avoid host overlap when co-staining with other markers. Filterable by host and clonality on the product listing.
Where they're used

Typical applications

Tumour biomarker research
IHC is used to assess oncogenic biomarkers such as HER2, PD-L1 and Ki-67 in cancer research, scoring their expression directly in tumour tissue sections.
Target expression profiling in drug discovery
Tissue microarrays stained by IHC are used in drug discovery pathology to determine how a novel target molecule is distributed across organs and tissue types.
Biomarker panel development
IHC-based screening across tissue microarrays supports the development of biomarker panels, used to study protein expression patterns associated with disease progression in research models.
Subcellular localisation and pathway studies
Beyond detecting whether a target is present, IHC is used to assess whether it localises to the nucleus, cytoplasm or cell membrane, information used in tissue-based pathway studies.

Choosing an IHC Guaranteed antibody for a specific target

The technical support team is available to help select an antibody for a given target. Every product page includes a downloadable datasheet and SDS, with dispatch on overnight priority shipping with gel ice packs.
