Primary Antibodies

Lyophilised Antibodies

Lyophilised antibodies are freeze-dried: water is removed from the frozen antibody solution under vacuum, leaving a stable solid rather than a liquid. This format eases shipping temperature requirements and extends shelf life; the antibody is reconstituted in buffer before use. The range includes over 2,500 antibodies validated for immunohistochemistry, with additional coverage for ICC, IF, flow cytometry and ELISA. All are supplied as a dry powder that avoids repeated freeze-thaw degradation of liquid stocks.

Lyophilised Antibodies for Neuroscience Research

Lyophilised antibodies for neuronal cytoskeletal components, neurotransmitter receptors and signalling adaptors that are central to studies of neuronal differentiation, synaptic transmission and neurodegeneration. Key targets include neurofilament heavy polypeptide (NEFH), a 200 kDa intermediate filament protein essential for maintaining axonal calibre; 5-HT1A, 5-HT2C and 5-HT3A serotonin receptors, which mediate serotonergic signalling in the central nervous system; and 14-3-3 protein eta, an adapter that regulates multiple signalling pathways in the brain. These antibodies are supplied lyophilised and are validated for IHC and WB, making them suitable for tissue staining and protein expression analysis in rodent and human brain samples.

Immunology Research

Lyophilised Antibodies for Immunology Research

Lyophilised antibodies for immune cell surface markers, complement regulatory proteins and integrins involved in leukocyte adhesion and migration. Key targets include CD11b (Integrin beta 2 alpha subunit), a marker for macrophages and microglia that mediates adhesion and migration; CD59, a potent inhibitor of the complement membrane attack complex (MAC) that protects cells from complement-mediated damage; and CD16 (FcγRIII), a receptor expressed on NK cells, monocytes and neutrophils that mediates antibody-dependent cell-mediated cytotoxicity. These antibodies are validated for flow cytometry, ICC, IHC and WB across human and rat samples, supporting studies of immune cell function, complement regulation and inflammatory responses.

Cancer Research

Lyophilised Antibodies for Cancer Research

Lyophilised antibodies for signalling adaptors, ATP-binding cassette transporters and other proteins implicated in tumour progression and drug resistance. 14-3-3 protein eta is an adapter that modulates kinase activity and is expressed in multiple tissues, with roles in cancer cell signalling. ABCA3, ABCA4 and ABCA5 are members of the ATP-binding cassette transporter superfamily; they are studied for their involvement in lipid transport and multidrug resistance in cancer cells. These antibodies are validated for IHC and WB, supporting tissue-based studies of transporter expression and signalling pathway alterations in solid tumours.

Practical Guide

Handling Lyophilised Antibodies

Proper handling ensures the antibody retains its activity and stability. The steps below are based on the datasheets supplied with our lyophilised products.

1. Storage Before Reconstitution

Store the unopened lyophilised antibody at 2–8°C or –20°C as specified on the product label. The lyophilised antibody is stable for at least 1 year from the date of receipt when stored correctly. Protect from moisture and avoid exposing the vial to repeated temperature fluctuations.

2. Reconstitution Steps
  • Spin the vial briefly before opening to collect all lyophilised material at the bottom.
  • Reconstitute with the volume of sterile-filtered ultrapure water or PBS specified on the product label – typically 100 µL to achieve a 1 mg/mL concentration.
  • Centrifuge briefly to remove any insoluble material.
  • Use the reconstituted antibody promptly or proceed to aliquoting for storage.
3. Storage After Reconstitution

After reconstitution, divide the antibody into single-use aliquots and store at –20°C for long-term stability. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles. Aliquots can typically be stored at 2–8°C for short-term use (up to one month) without significant loss of activity. Always follow the specific storage instructions provided on the product datasheet.
