Additional Info
| Function | Cytokine that can act as a growth factor for activated T and NK cells, enhance the lytic activity of NK/lymphokine-activated killer cells, and stimulate the production of IFN-gamma by resting PBMC. Associates with IL23A to form the IL-23 interleukin, a heterodimeric cytokine which functions in innate and adaptive immunity. IL-23 may constitute with IL-17 an acute response to infection in peripheral tissues. IL-23 binds to a heterodimeric receptor complex composed of IL12RB1 and IL23R, activates the Jak-Stat signaling cascade, stimulates memory rather than naive T-cells and promotes production of pro-inflammatory cytokines. IL-23 induces autoimmune inflammation and thus may be responsible for autoimmune inflammatory diseases and may be important for tumorigenesis. |

Frequently Asked Questions
Common questions about Human IL-23 (Interleukin-12 Subunit Beta) Antibody Pair (STJAP00434)
This antibody pair detects human IL-23, also known as Interleukin-12 Subunit Beta (UniProt P29460), and has confirmed reactivity to the human protein only. It is intended for research use only and is not validated for diagnostic or therapeutic applications.
The capture antibody is supplied unconjugated at 0.5 mg/mL in PBS with 0.04% Proclin 300 and 50% glycerol at pH 7.5, while the detection antibody is biotinylated and supplied at 0.5 mg/mL in PBS with 0.04% Proclin 300, 1% protective protein, and 50% glycerol at pH 7.5. The capture antibody is mouse-derived and purified by Protein A or G, and the detection antibody is goat-derived and purified by antigen affinity.
This pair is validated for use in ELISA. It has not been described as validated for other assay formats such as Western blot, immunohistochemistry, or flow cytometry.
Compatible sample types include serum, plasma, and other biological fluids. No validation data for tissue lysates or cell culture supernatants are provided in the product details.
Both components should be stored at -20 degrees Celsius for long-term storage, and freeze-thaw cycles should be avoided. The glycerol content in both formulations is consistent with stable storage at this temperature.
Both the capture and detection antibodies were raised against recombinant human IL-23 protein. No specific immunogen region or peptide sequence is defined in the available product data.
