Additional Info
| Function | Multifunctional protein that plays a critical role in regulating the availability of IGFs such as IGF1 and IGF2 to their receptors and thereby regulates IGF-mediated cellular processes including proliferation, differentiation, and apoptosis in a cell-type specific manner. Functions coordinately with receptor protein tyrosine phosphatase beta/PTPRB and the IGF1 receptor to regulate IGF1-mediated signaling by stimulating the phosphorylation of PTEN leading to its inactivation and AKT1 activation. Plays a positive role in cell migration via interaction with integrin alpha5/ITGA5 through an RGD motif. Additionally, interaction with ITGA5/ITGB1 enhances the adhesion of endothelial progenitor cells to endothelial cells. Upon mitochondrial damage, facilitates apoptosis with ITGA5 of podocytes, and then activates the phosphorylation of focal adhesion kinase (FAK)-mediated mitochondrial injury. |

Frequently Asked Questions
Common questions about Human IGFBP-2 (Insulin-Like Growth Factor-Binding Protein 2) Antibody Pair (STJAP00400)
This antibody pair detects human IGFBP-2 (Insulin-Like Growth Factor-Binding Protein 2), corresponding to UniProt entry P18065. Reactivity has been established for human samples only.
Both antibodies are polyclonal, raised in goat, and purified by antigen affinity. The capture antibody is unconjugated, and the detection antibody is biotinylated. Both are supplied at 0.5 mg/mL.
This pair is validated for ELISA. Suitable sample types include serum, plasma, and other biological fluids.
The capture antibody is formulated in PBS with 0.04% Proclin 300 and 50% glycerol at pH 7.5. The detection antibody is formulated in PBS with 0.04% Proclin 300, 1% protective protein, and 50% glycerol at pH 7.5.
Both components should be stored at -20°C for long-term storage. Freeze-thaw cycles should be avoided to maintain product integrity.
Both the capture and detection antibodies were raised against recombinant human IGFBP-2 protein. Both were subsequently purified by antigen affinity chromatography.
