Secondary Antibodies

More than 50 varieties with 5 conjugation options: unconjugated, FITC, HRP, Biotin and Gold

Secondary antibodies are affinity‑purified antibodies that bind to target‑specific primary antibodies, enabling detection, sorting or purification of the specified target. With a broad range of host species, isotypes and conjugates, our secondary antibodies give you the flexibility to match your primary antibody and detection system.

How it works

Indirect detection with secondary antibodies

In an indirect detection workflow, the secondary antibody binds to the primary antibody that is already attached to the target antigen. Because multiple secondary antibodies can bind to a single primary antibody, this approach provides signal amplification, particularly useful when studying low‑abundance proteins. Our secondary antibodies are raised against the host species and isotype of the primary antibody, so you can select the exact combination that fits your experimental design.

Why use our secondary antibodies?

Wide choice of host species and isotypes
Our range includes secondary antibodies raised in goat, rabbit, donkey and mouse, with specificity for IgG, IgY, IgM and light chains, so you can match the host and isotype of your primary antibody.
Five conjugation options for any detection system
Choose between unconjugated, FITC‑, HRP‑, Biotin‑ and Gold‑conjugated secondary antibodies. This lets you select the right label for ELISA, western blot, immunofluorescence, flow cytometry or electron microscopy workflows.
Affinity‑purified for low background
All our secondary antibodies are isolated by immunoaffinity chromatography using antigen‑specific immunogens, giving you high specificity and minimal cross‑reactivity in your assays.
Validated across multiple applications
Each product is tested in relevant applications, including WB, IHC, IF, ICC, FC and ELISA, with recommended dilution ranges provided on the datasheet.
Where they're used

Typical applications

ELISA
HRP‑ or biotin‑conjugated secondary antibodies are used as detection reagents in sandwich and indirect ELISA formats, providing enzyme‑mediated signal amplification.
Western blot
HRP‑conjugated secondary antibodies are widely used with chemiluminescent substrates for protein detection on membranes, with recommended dilutions typically ranging from 1:5,000 to 1:20,000.
Immunofluorescence / Immunocytochemistry
FITC‑, Cy3‑, ABflo®‑ and other fluorophore‑conjugated secondaries enable direct visualisation of target localisation in cells and tissues.
Flow cytometry
Fluorophore‑conjugated secondary antibodies are used for cell surface and intracellular staining, enabling multiparameter analysis of cell populations.
