General Information

Short DescriptionRecombinant-Mouse Interleukin-5-protein was developed from insect cells. For use in research applications.
HostInsect cells
NoteSTRICTLY FOR FURTHER RESEARCH USE ONLY (RUO). MUST NOT TO BE USED IN DIAGNOSTIC OR THERAPEUTIC APPLICATIONS.

Product Properties

ConjugationUnconjugated
Dilution RangeSpin the vial and reconstite in distilled water to a concentration not less than 0.1 mg/mL. This can then be diluted into other buffers.
FormulationLyophilised from 0.2 Mu m filtered PBS solution.
Storage InstructionCan be stored in working aliquots at°C-°C C for one month, or at-20°C C for six months, with a carrier protein without detectable loss of activity. Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles. NA
EndotoxinEndotoxin content was assayed using a LAL gel clot method. Endotoxin level was found to be less than.1 ng/µg (1EU/µg). NA
ImmunoreactivityThe ED (50) was determined by the dose-dependent proliferation of TF-1 cells was ≤.2 ng/ml, corresponding to a specific activity of ≥ x units/mg. NA

Additional Info

Tissue Specificity Expressed in lymphoid cells, including spleen, thymus, lymph nodes and peripheral blood mononuclear cells.
Function Homodimeric cytokine expressed predominantly by T-lymphocytes and NK cells that plays an important role in the survival, differentiation, and chemotaxis of eosinophils. Also acts on activated and resting B-cells to induce immunoglobulin production, growth, and differentiation. Mechanistically, exerts its biological effects through a receptor composed of IL5RA subunit and the cytokine receptor common subunit beta/CSF2RB. Binding to the receptor leads to activation of various kinases including LYN, SYK and JAK2 and thereby propagates signals through the RAS-MAPK and JAK-STAT5 pathways respectively.
