General Information
| Short Description | Recombinant-Active-Mouse CD95/FAS-C-hFc-His protein was developed from mammalian cells and has a target region of C-hFc-His. For use in research applications. |
| Applications | ELISA/WB |
| Host | Mammalian Cells |
| Note | STRICTLY FOR FURTHER SCIENTIFIC RESEARCH USE ONLY (RUO). MUST NOT BE USED IN DIAGNOSTIC OR THERAPEUTIC APPLICATIONS. |
Product Properties
| Conjugation | Unconjugated |
| Dilution Range | Reconstitute in sterile water for a stock solution. |
| Formulation | Lyophilized from a solution in PBS pH 7.4, 5% Trehalose, 5% Mannitol. |
| Storage Instruction | Use a manual defrost freezer and avoid repeated freeze thaw cycles. Store at 2 to 8°C for one week. Store at-20 to-80°C for twelve months from the date of receipt. |
| Endotoxin | <0.1 EU/Mu g of the protein by the LAL method. |
| Immunoreactivity | Measured by its ability to inhibit Fas Ligand-induced apoptosis of human acute T cell leukemia cells (Jurkat). The ED50 for this effect is 0.03-0.1 µg/mL in the presence of 20 ng/mL recombinant human Fas-ligand. |
Target Information
| Gene Symbol | Fas |
| Gene ID | 14102 |
| Uniprot ID | TNR6_MOUSE |
| Immunogen | Mus musculus (Mouse) |
| Immunogen Region | Gly14-Arg169 |
Additional Info
| Post Translational Modifications | Palmitoylated. Palmitoylation by ZDHHC7 prevents the lysosomal degradation of FAS regulating its expression at the plasma membrane. |
| Function | Receptor for TNFSF6/FASLG. The adapter molecule FADD recruits caspase CASP8 to the activated receptor. The resulting death-inducing signaling complex (DISC) performs CASP8 proteolytic activation which initiates the subsequent cascade of caspases (aspartate-specific cysteine proteases) mediating apoptosis. FAS-mediated apoptosis may have a role in the induction of peripheral tolerance, in the antigen-stimulated suicide of mature T-cells, or both. |
