Additional Info
| Function | Binds low density lipoprotein /LDL, the major cholesterol-carrying lipoprotein of plasma, and transports it into cells by endocytosis. In order to be internalized, the receptor-ligand complexes must first cluster into clathrin-coated pits. Forms a ternary complex with PGRMC1 and TMEM97 receptors which increases LDLR-mediated LDL internalization. (Microbial infection) Acts as a receptor for hepatitis C virus in hepatocytes, but not through a direct interaction with viral proteins. (Microbial infection) Acts as a receptor for Vesicular stomatitis virus. (Microbial infection) In case of HIV-1 infection, may function as a receptor for extracellular Tat in neurons, mediating its internalization in uninfected cells. (Microbial infection) Acts as a receptor for Crimean-Congo hemorrhagic fever virus (CCHFV). (Microbial infection) Acts as a receptor for many Alphavirus, including Getah virus (GETV), Ross river virus (RRV) and Semliki Forest virus. |

Frequently Asked Questions
Common questions about Human LDLR (Low-Density Lipoprotein Receptor) Antibody Pair (STJAP00167)
This antibody pair detects human Low-Density Lipoprotein Receptor (LDLR), corresponding to UniProt entry P01130. Reactivity is confirmed for human samples only.
The capture antibody is supplied unconjugated at 0.5 mg/mL, while the detection antibody is biotinylated and also supplied at 0.5 mg/mL. Both are polyclonal rabbit antibodies formulated in PBS with 0.04% Proclin 300 and 50% glycerol at pH 7.4.
This pair is validated for use in ELISA. No other assay formats are specified for this product.
Both the capture and detection antibodies were raised against recombinant human LDLR protein. Both antibodies were purified by Protein A and antigen affinity methods.
Both components should be stored at -20°C for long-term storage. Repeated freeze-thaw cycles should be avoided to maintain reagent integrity.
Orders typically arrive within 1 to 2 weeks, and often sooner depending on your location. If your timeline is critical, please contact us before ordering and we can advise on current lead times.
