Additional Info
| Function | Constant region of immunoglobulin heavy chains. Immunoglobulins, also known as antibodies, are membrane-bound or secreted glycoproteins produced by B lymphocytes. In the recognition phase of humoral immunity, the membrane-bound immunoglobulins serve as receptors which, upon binding of a specific antigen, trigger the clonal expansion and differentiation of B lymphocytes into immunoglobulins-secreting plasma cells. Secreted immunoglobulins mediate the effector phase of humoral immunity, which results in the elimination of bound antigens. The antigen binding site is formed by the variable domain of one heavy chain, together with that of its associated light chain. Thus, each immunoglobulin has two antigen binding sites with remarkable affinity for a particular antigen. The variable domains are assembled by a process called V-(D)-J rearrangement and can then be subjected to somatic hypermutations which, after exposure to antigen and selection, allow affinity maturation for a particular antigen. |

Frequently Asked Questions
Common questions about Human IgG3 (Immunoglobulin Heavy Constant Gamma 3) Antibody Pair (STJAP00416)
This antibody pair detects human IgG3 (Immunoglobulin Heavy Constant Gamma 3), corresponding to UniProt accession P01860. Reactivity is confirmed for human samples only.
Both antibodies are mouse-derived and supplied at 0.5 mg/mL. The capture antibody is unconjugated, formulated in PBS with 0.04% Proclin 300 and 50% glycerol at pH 7.5, while the detection antibody is biotin-conjugated, formulated in PBS with 0.04% Proclin 300, 1% protective protein, and 50% glycerol at pH 7.5.
This pair is validated for ELISA applications. It is intended for research use only and is not validated for diagnostic or therapeutic purposes.
This antibody pair is suitable for use with serum, plasma, and other biological fluids as sample types in ELISA-based detection of human IgG3.
Both the capture and detection antibodies were purified using Protein A or G affinity chromatography. Each was raised against natural human IgG3 protein as the immunogen.
Both components should be stored at -20°C for long-term storage. Freeze-thaw cycles should be avoided to maintain product integrity.
