Additional Info
| Function | FABPs are thought to play a role in the intracellular transport of long-chain fatty acids and their acyl-CoA esters. FABP2 is probably involved in triglyceride-rich lipoprotein synthesis. Binds saturated long-chain fatty acids with a high affinity, but binds with a lower affinity to unsaturated long-chain fatty acids. FABP2 may also help maintain energy homeostasis by functioning as a lipid sensor. |

Frequently Asked Questions
Common questions about Human IFABP/FABP2 (Fatty Acid-Binding Protein-Intestinal) Antibody Pair (STJAP00031)
This antibody pair detects human IFABP (Intestinal Fatty Acid-Binding Protein), also known as FABP2, corresponding to UniProt entry P12104. Reactivity is confirmed for human samples only.
The capture antibody is a mouse monoclonal antibody supplied unconjugated at 0.5 mg/mL, while the detection antibody is a goat polyclonal antibody supplied at 0.5 mg/mL conjugated to biotin. Both are formulated in PBS with 0.04% Proclin 300 and 50% glycerol at pH 7.4.
This antibody pair is validated for use in ELISA. No other assay formats are listed in the product specifications.
The capture antibody was purified using Protein A or G, and the detection antibody was purified by antigen affinity chromatography. Both antibodies were raised against recombinant human IFABP/FABP2 protein.
Both the capture and detection antibodies should be stored at -20°C for long-term storage. Freeze-thaw cycles should be avoided to maintain antibody integrity.
