Additional Info
| Post Translational Modifications | The soluble form (GHBP) is produced by phorbol ester-promoted proteolytic cleavage at the cell surface (shedding) by ADAM17/TACE. Shedding is inhibited by growth hormone (GH) binding to the receptor probably due to a conformational change in GHR rendering the receptor inaccessible to ADAM17. On GH binding, phosphorylated on tyrosine residues in the cytoplasmic domain by JAK2. Ubiquitinated by the ECS(SOCS2) complex following ligand-binding and phosphorylation by JAK2, leading to its degradation by the proteasome. Regulation by the ECS(SOCS2) complex acts as a negative feedback loop of growth hormone receptor signaling. Ubiquitination is not sufficient for GHR internalization. |
| Function | Receptor for pituitary gland growth hormone (GH1) involved in regulating postnatal body growth. On ligand binding, couples to the JAK2/STAT5 pathway. Growth hormone-binding protein: The soluble form (GHBP) acts as a reservoir of growth hormone in plasma and may be a modulator/inhibitor of GH signaling. Isoform 2: Up-regulates the production of the soluble Growth hormone-binding protein form (GHBP) and acts as a negative inhibitor of growth hormone signaling. |

Frequently Asked Questions
Common questions about Human GHR (Growth Hormone Receptor) Antibody Pair (STJAP00173)
This antibody pair is designed to detect human GHR (Growth Hormone Receptor), corresponding to UniProt entry P10912. Reactivity has been confirmed for human samples only.
The capture antibody is supplied unconjugated, while the detection antibody is biotin-conjugated. Both are polyclonal antibodies raised in goat, supplied at 0.5 mg/mL, and formulated in PBS with 0.04% Proclin 300 and 50% glycerol at pH 7.4.
This pair is validated for use in ELISA. No other assay formats are listed for this product.
Both the capture and detection antibodies were raised against recombinant human GHR protein. Both antibodies have also been purified by antigen affinity purification.
Both components should be stored at -20 degrees Celsius for long-term storage. Repeated freeze-thaw cycles should be avoided to maintain antibody integrity.
Orders typically arrive within 1 to 2 weeks, and often sooner depending on your location. If your timeline is critical, please contact us before ordering and we can advise on current lead times.
This product is shipped on gel ice packs to maintain integrity during transit. Priority shipping is used as standard to minimise time in transit.
