Additional Info
| Post Translational Modifications | N-glycosylated. ANGPTL4 N-terminal chain: Forms disulfide-linked dimers and tetramers. Cleaved into a smaller N-terminal chain and a larger chain that contains the fibrinogen C-terminal domain.both cleaved and uncleaved forms are detected in the extracellular space. The cleaved form is not present within the cell. |
| Function | Mediates inactivation of the lipoprotein lipase LPL, and thereby plays a role in the regulation of triglyceride clearance from the blood serum and in lipid metabolism. May also play a role in regulating glucose homeostasis and insulin sensitivity (Probable). Inhibits proliferation, migration, and tubule formation of endothelial cells and reduces vascular leakage. Upon heterologous expression, inhibits the adhesion of endothelial cell to the extracellular matrix (ECM), and inhibits the reorganization of the actin cytoskeleton, formation of actin stress fibers and focal adhesions in endothelial cells that have adhered to ANGPTL4-containing ECM (in vitro). Depending on context, may modulate tumor-related angiogenesis. ANGPTL4 N-terminal chain: Mediates inactivation of the lipoprotein lipase LPL, and thereby plays an important role in the regulation of triglyceride clearance from the blood serum and in lipid metabolism. Has higher activity in LPL inactivation than the uncleaved protein. |

Frequently Asked Questions
Common questions about Human ANGPTL4 (Angiopoietin-Related Protein 4) Antibody Pair (STJAP00202)
This antibody pair detects human Angiopoietin-Related Protein 4 (ANGPTL4, UniProt Q9BY76) and is validated for reactivity against human samples only.
The capture antibody is supplied unconjugated at 0.5 mg/mL, while the detection antibody is biotinylated and also supplied at 0.5 mg/mL. Both are polyclonal antibodies raised in goat and formulated in PBS with 0.04% Proclin 300 and 50% glycerol at pH 7.4.
This pair has been validated for use in ELISA. No other assay formats are specified for this product.
Both the capture and detection antibodies were raised against recombinant human ANGPTL4 protein. Both antibodies have also been purified by antigen affinity chromatography.
Both components should be stored at -20°C for long-term storage. Repeated freeze-thaw cycles should be avoided to maintain product integrity.
Orders typically arrive within 1 to 2 weeks, and often sooner depending on your location. If your timeline is critical, please contact us before ordering and we can advise on current lead times.
