ELISA Kit Formats
An ELISA kit works on one of two detection principles. Sandwich kits use two antibodies against different epitopes of the same target: one immobilised on the plate to capture the antigen, the second conjugated for detection, which suits low-abundance analytes in complex samples. Competitive kits measure antigen concentration through signal inhibition rather than direct capture, producing an inverse standard curve, which suits small molecular weight targets such as hormones and metabolites that cannot support two non-overlapping antibody binding sites. Ready-to-Use kits run a single-wash protocol with recombinant capture and detection antibodies, streamlining the workflow compared with a standard multi-wash format.
Sandwich ELISA Kits
Capture and detection antibody pair against two non-overlapping epitopes on the same target, giving sensitive, specific quantification in complex samples over a standard 4-5 hour protocol.

Quantification through signal inhibition rather than direct capture, producing an inverse standard curve. Suited to small molecular weight targets such as hormones and metabolites.

Single-wash protocol with recombinant capture and detection antibodies, built for speed and lot-to-lot consistency in high-throughput screening.

Two kits that appear in more published studies than almost any other immunoassay target. IL-6 sits at the intersection of inflammation, immunity, and metabolism research, making it indispensable for in vitro cytokine profiling and in vivo disease modelling alike. NT-proBNP is the most widely used peptide marker for studying ventricular stress responses in preclinical cardiac models, with validated kits for Human, Mouse, and Rat.
Human IL-6 (Interleukin-6) Sandwich ELISA Kit (STJE0000004)
Used to quantify IL-6 secretion in stimulated primary cells, conditioned media, and in vivo serum samples across inflammation, autoimmunity, and metabolic disease models, with Mouse and Rat variants available for translational modelling.

Human NT-proBNP Sandwich ELISA Kit (STJE0006704)
Used to measure ventricular wall stress responses in preclinical heart failure models, cardiotoxicity assays, and hypertensive cardiomyopathy studies, with Human, Mouse, and Rat variants available.
View kit →Inflammation & Immunology
Quantify secreted cytokines and chemokines from stimulated immune cells, tissue homogenates, and conditioned media. These kits are widely used in studies of macrophage and T-cell activation, inflammasome signalling, Th1/Th2/Th17 polarisation, and innate immune pathway characterisation, with species coverage across Human, Mouse, and Rat supporting translational research from cell-based assays through to in vivo disease models.

Cardiovascular & Heart Failure
Quantify markers of cardiomyocyte injury, cardiac remodelling, and vascular signalling in preclinical models. Troponin I and T kits are used to monitor myocardial damage in ischaemia-reperfusion studies and drug-induced cardiotoxicity assays. GDF-15 and Galectin-3 are used in models of cardiac fibrosis and stress adaptation, while VEGF-A and Endothelin-1 kits support studies of angiogenesis, vascular tone regulation, and endothelial dysfunction.

Neuroscience & Neurodegeneration
Measure glial activation, neuronal damage, and protein aggregation across in vitro and in vivo neuroscience models. GFAP and S100B kits are used to assess astrocyte reactivity in traumatic brain injury and neuroinflammation studies. Total Tau and phospho-Tau kits support mechanistic research into neurofibrillary tangle formation, alpha-synuclein kits are used in Parkinson's disease models, and BDNF and NfL kits are widely applied in synaptic plasticity and axonal degeneration research respectively.

Oncology & Cancer Research
Quantify tumour-associated proteins in cell culture supernatants, conditioned media, and lysates to support in vitro cancer biology research. PSA and AFP kits are used in cell line characterisation and secretion profiling studies. HIF-1alpha kits are applied in hypoxia signalling experiments, and Bcl-2 kits support apoptosis research and the study of chemoresistance mechanisms in cancer cell models.
