Additional Info
| Background | coaA (pantothenate kinase) belongs to the prokaryotic pantothenate kinase family. Pantothenate kinase (PanK; CoaA) is the first enzyme in the Coenzyme A biosynthetic pathway. It phophorylates pantothenate (vitamin B5) to form 4 NA-phosphopantothenate. Regulation of pantothenate kinase activity by feedback inhibition is the critical factor controlling the intracellular CoA concentration. Recombinant E. coli coaA protein, fused to His-tag at N-terminus, was expressed in E. coli and purified by using conventional chromatography techniques. |
