Trial size CD34 antibodies available in the Antibody Validation Project
Introduction:
The CD34 gene carries the needed information for synthesising the CD34 molecule which is a protein assumed to have the potential of attaching stem cells to bone marrow. It can also be used as a prognostic marker in favourable head and neck cancer and unfavourable renal cancer. We provide a number of trial sized antibodies, which are suitable for CD34 research purposes, and to help you make the right decision and find the best suited antibody for you, please find the answers to some of the key topics regarding CD34 that we have provided in the links below.

What is CD34?
The protein(CD34 molecule), encoded by this gene may play a role in the attachment of stem cells to the bone marrow extracellular matrix or to stromal cells and is also a single-pass membrane protein which is highly glycosylated and phosphorylated by protein kinase C. It could act as a scaffold for the attachment of lineage specific glycans, allowing stem cells to bind to lectins expressed by stromal cells or other marrow components.
Where is CD34 found?
Primarily CD34 is found in the plasma membrane, cell junctions and nucleoplasm, and it has low tissue and human brain regional specificity, with higher expression in endothelial cells.
What role does CD34 play in disease?
Mutations and overexpressions of CD34 are linked with spindle cell lipoma, neurofibroma and cutaneous fibrous histiocytoma. Furthermore, a CD34 fingerprint immunoreactivity can be used do distinguish neurofibroma from early desmoplastic melanoma.
