Introduction:

The CCNB1 gene encodes a regulatory protein linked to mitosis and responsible for nucleocytoplasmic shuttling, named Cyclin B1. This protein is involved in the progression and prognostics of adrenal carnicoma as well as being a prognostic marker for unfavourable lung, renal, and liver cancer. We provide a number of trial sized antibodies, which are suitable for CCNB1 research purposes, and to help you make the right decision and find the best suited antibody for you, please find the answers to some of the key topics regarding CCNB1 that we have provided in the links below.

What is CCNB1?

The protein encoded by this gene is a regulatory protein involved in mitosis. The encoded protein called Cyclin B1 is necessary for proper control of the G2/M(mitosis) transition phase of the cell cycle. Also, it is a nucleocytoplasmic shuttling protein, accumulating in the cytoplasm through S and G2 phases and translocating to the nucleus during prophase.

Where is CCNB1 found?

Inside the cell CCNB1 is mainly expressed in the cytosol and is cell cycle dependent. It is also distributed in all tissues, but lymphoid tissue is enhanced and also it has cytoplasmic expression in proliferating cells.

What role does CCNB1 play in disease?

The CCNB1 gene is believed to be involved in the tumorigenesis, progression and prognosis of adrenal carcinoma and abnormalities also lead to retinoblastoma, pancreatic adenocarcinoma and breast cancer.
