Introduction:

ADP ribosylation factor 6(ARF6) is a gene responsible for vesicular traffic, cytoskeleton remodelling and activation of a subunit of the cholera toxin, in addition to its role in normal mitotic cytokinesis and formation of stress fibers. Diagnostically, ARF6 can also be used as a prognostic marker in unfavourable pancreatic cancer. We provide a number of trial sized antibodies, which are suitable for ARF6 research purposes, and to help you make the right decision and find the best suited antibody for you, please find the answers to some of the key topics regarding ARF6 that we have provided in the links below.

What is ARF6?

This gene encodes a member of the human ARF gene family, which is part of the RAS superfamily. The ARF genes encode small guanine nucleotide-binding proteins that stimulate the ADP-ribosyltransferase activity of cholera toxin and play a role in vesicular trafficking and as activators of phospholipase D. ARF6 is a GTP-binding protein involved in protein trafficking that regulates endocytic recycling and cytoskeleton remodeling. it is also required for normal completion of mitotic cytokinesis and plays a role in the reorganization of the actin cytoskeleton and the formation of stress fibers. Furthermore, it is involved in the regulation of dendritic spine development, contributing to the regulation of dendritic branching and filopodia extension

Where is ARF6 found?

ARF6 has low cell line specifity, so it can be detected all around the cell and, in addition to that, it it found in the majority of the tissues of the human body.

What role does ARF6 play in disease?

This gene is a prognostic marker in unfavourable pancreatic cancer and also plays an important role in Cholera toxin activation.
