Additional Info

Post Translational Modifications Activation of PRKCA induces phosphorylation of TRPC1 and subsequent Ca2+ entry into cells.
Function Forms a receptor-activated non-selective calcium permeant cation channel. Forms a heteromeric ion channel with TRPC4 or TRPC5 that has reduced calcium permeability compared to the homomeric TRPC4 or TRPC5 channel. Also permeable to monovalent ions including sodium, lithium and cesium ions. Isoform Short: Forms a receptor-activated non-selective calcium permeant cation channel. Also activated by intracellular calcium store depletion.
