Short Description: | Nz White Rabbit polyclonal antibody anti-SUMO1 is suitable for use in Immunohistochemistry and Western Blot research applications. |
Clonality: | Polyclonal |
Conjugation: | Unconjugated |
Isotype: | IgG |
Formulation: | Shipped as lyophilised. Reconstitute in 500 µl of sterile water. Centrifuge to remove any insoluble material. |
Purification: | Ammonium sulphate precipitation |
Dilution Range: | A concentration of 10-50 µg/ml is recommended. The optimal concentration should be determined by the end user. Not yet tested in other applications. |
Storage Instruction: | Maintain the lyophilised/reconstituted antibodies frozen at-20°C for long term storage and refrigerated at 2-8°C for a shorter term. When reconstituting, glycerol (1:1) may be added for an additional stability. Avoid freeze and thaw cycles. |
Gene Symbol: | SUMO1 |
Gene ID: | 7341 |
Uniprot ID: | SUMO1_HUMAN |
Specificity: | Specific for SUMO 1. |
Immunogen: | A synthetic peptide from mouse SUMO 1 conjugated to blue carrier protein was used as the antigen. The antigen is homologous in human, rat and marmoset. |
Function | Ubiquitin-like protein that can be covalently attached to proteins as a monomer or a lysine-linked polymer. Covalent attachment via an isopeptide bond to its substrates requires prior activation by the E1 complex SAE1-SAE2 and linkage to the E2 enzyme UBE2I, and can be promoted by E3 ligases such as PIAS1-4, RANBP2 or CBX4. This post-translational modification on lysine residues of proteins plays a crucial role in a number of cellular processes such as nuclear transport, DNA replication and repair, mitosis and signal transduction. Involved for instance in targeting RANGAP1 to the nuclear pore complex protein RANBP2. Covalently attached to the voltage-gated potassium channel KCNB1.this modulates the gating characteristics of KCNB1. Polymeric SUMO1 chains are also susceptible to polyubiquitination which functions as a signal for proteasomal degradation of modified proteins. May also regulate a network of genes involved in palate development. Covalently attached to ZFHX3. |
