| Function | G-protein-coupled receptor for parathyroid hormone (PTH) and for parathyroid hormone-related peptide (PTHLH). Ligand binding causes a conformation change that triggers signaling via guanine nucleotide-binding proteins (G proteins) and modulates the activity of downstream effectors, such as adenylate cyclase (cAMP). PTH1R is coupled to G(s) G alpha proteins and mediates activation of adenylate cyclase activity. PTHLH dissociates from PTH1R more rapidly than PTH.as consequence, the cAMP response induced by PTHLH decays faster than the response induced by PTH. |

Frequently Asked Questions
Common questions about Anti-PTH1R nanobody [SAA0797] (STJN000011)
This nanobody targets PTH1R (Parathyroid Hormone 1 Receptor, UniProt Q03431) and has confirmed reactivity against the human form of the protein. No cross-reactivity data for other species is provided.
This nanobody has been validated for use in ELISA and RIA. It is intended for research use only and has not been validated for diagnostic or therapeutic applications.
This nanobody is supplied in a VHH-8His-Cys-tag format and is unconjugated. The His-tag supports purification and detection workflows, while the Cys-tag can facilitate site-specific conjugation by the end user if required.
This nanobody was purified by Nickel column affinity chromatography and has a purity of greater than 95% as determined by SDS-PAGE. It is supplied at a concentration of 1 mg/mL in 0.01M PBS, pH 7.4.
For short-term storage of 1 to 2 weeks, the antibody should be kept at 4°C. For storage up to 12 months, store at -20°C, and for long-term storage, keep at -80°C. Repeated freeze-thaw cycles should be avoided, and a manual defrost freezer is recommended.
