Post Translational Modifications Long isoforms that share a conserved PKA phosphorylation site in the N-terminus are activated by PKA through phosphorylation. Sumoylation of long isoforms by PIAS4 augments their activation by PKA phosphorylation and represses their inhibition by ERK phosphorylation.
