Additional Info
| Background | Inhibin is a peptide hormone that inhibits FSH secretion from the pituitary. Inhibin is a dimer that consists of an alpha and beta subunit. In normal tissue, anti-inhibin alpha labels granulosa cells of the ovary, sertoli and leydig cells of the testis, and the zona reticularis of the adrenal cortex. Anti-inhibin alpha has demonstrated utility in the identification of sex cord stromal tumors and adrenal cortical tumors. |
