Detection of GFP-tagged fusion proteins across Western Blot, IF, IP and ChIPThe GFP-Tag comes from the green fluorescent protein (GFP), a 238-residue protein first isolated from the jellyfish Aequorea victoria and later found in other cnidarians. Its fold is an 11-stranded beta barrel with a central alpha helix, inside which the chromophore forms from three internal residues without needing any cofactor other than molecular oxygen.1
Because the chromophore is self-contained, GFP fusions are widely used as expression reporters and for tracking protein localisation, with an emission peak around 509 nm.2 Our range covers mouse and rabbit monoclonal, rabbit polyclonal, and goat anti-GFP formats across Western Blot, IF/ICC, IP, ELISA and ChIP.
