Target Information

ACTA2 (Actin Alpha 2, Smooth Muscle) is a smooth muscle-specific actin involved in contractility and cytoskeletal integrity. It is expressed in vascular and visceral smooth muscles, playing a key role in blood vessel constriction and tissue remodeling. Mutations in ACTA2 are linked to vascular disorders, including thoracic aortic aneurysms and coronary artery disease.
