Hybridoma-derived antibodies for mouse immunology research

Our Armenian hamster host monoclonal antibodies are generated by immunising Armenian hamsters and fusing antibody-producing B cells with a myeloma line to create a stable hybridoma clone. The range covers 263 antibodies for flow cytometry, western blot, blocking and immunoprecipitation, with a strong focus on mouse immune cell surface markers.

How it works

Hybridoma production in a rodent host distinct from mouse

To generate these antibodies, Armenian hamsters are immunised with the target antigen. Splenocytes from the immunised animal are then fused with a myeloma cell line to form a hybridoma, which is cultured to produce a single, traceable antibody clone. Because the Armenian hamster is more evolutionarily distant from the mouse than commonly used hosts such as rat, it can mount a stronger immune response against mouse antigens that are otherwise poorly immunogenic in closely related rodent species. This makes the host well suited to raising antibodies against mouse cell surface and immune receptor targets.

Where they're used

Typical applications

Flow cytometry
The majority of our Armenian hamster clones are validated for flow cytometry, identifying and quantifying mouse immune cell surface markers such as CD11c, CD183/CXCR3 and CD120b across cell populations.
Western blotting
Selected clones in the range detect denatured mouse target proteins by size, supporting reproducible band detection across repeat research assay runs.
Receptor blocking assays
Certain clones, such as those against CD120b/TNFRSF1B and CD183/CXCR3, are used to block receptor-ligand interaction in functional in vitro studies of mouse receptor signalling.
Immunoprecipitation
Selected Armenian hamster clones pull down target antigens from mouse cell lysates, supporting detection of low-abundance proteins in research assays.
