Short Description: Recombinant-Human IL-5-C-His protein was developed from hek293 cells and has a target region of C-His. For use in research applications.
Formulation: Lyophilized from a 0.22 Mu m filtered solution of PBS, pH 7.4.
Immunoreactivity: Measured in a cell proliferation assay using TF-1 Human erythroleukemic cells. The ED50 for this effect is 0.5-2ng/mL.
Gene Symbol: IL5
Gene ID: 3567
Uniprot ID: IL5_HUMAN
Immunogen Region: Ile20-Ser134
Immunogen: Recombinant Human IL-5 Protein is produced by HEK293 cells expression system. The target protein is expressed with sequence (Ile20-Ser134) of human IL-5 (Accession #NP_000870.1) fused with an 6Ă—His tag at the C-terminus.
Function Homodimeric cytokine expressed predominantly by T-lymphocytes and NK cells that plays an important role in the survival, differentiation, and chemotaxis of eosinophils. Acts also on activated and resting B-cells to induce immunoglobulin production, growth, and differentiation. Mechanistically, exerts its biological effects through a receptor composed of IL5RA subunit and the cytokine receptor common subunit beta/CSF2RB. Binding to the receptor leads to activation of various kinases including LYN, SYK and JAK2 and thereby propagates signals through the RAS-MAPK and JAK-STAT5 pathways respectively.
