Host: |
HEK293 |
Note: |
STRICTLY FOR FURTHER RESEARCH USE ONLY (RUO). MUST NOT TO BE USED IN DIAGNOSTIC OR THERAPEUTIC APPLICATIONS. |
Short Description: |
Recombinant-Human Follistatin-protein was developed from hek293. For use in research applications. |
Conjugation: |
Unconjugated |
Formulation: |
Lyophilised at 1mg/ml containing no additives. |
Dilution Range: |
Spin the vial and reconstite in distilled water to a concentration not less than 0.1 mg/mL. This can then be diluted into other buffers. |
Storage Instruction: |
Can be stored in working aliquots at 2°C-8°C C for one month, or at-20°C C for six months, with a carrier protein without detectable loss of activity. Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles. NA |
Endotoxin: |
Endotoxin content was assayed using a LAL gel clot method. Endotoxin level was found to be less than 0.1 ng/µg (1EU/µg). NA |
Immunoreactivity: |
The ED (50) was determined by theability to neutralize Activin A inhibitory effect of mouse MPC-11 cells and was determined to be 0.1-0.4 µg/ml in the presence of 7.5 ng/ml Activin A. NA |
Gene Symbol: |
FST |
Gene ID: |
10468 |
Uniprot ID: |
FST_HUMAN |
Immunogen Region: |
Mature chain |
Immunogen: |
Optimized DNA sequence encoding Human Follistatin mature chain was expressed inHek293 cells. NA |
Immunogen Sequence: |
NA |
Tissue Specificity | Isoform 1 is the predominant isoform in serum but is undetectable in follicular fluid. In the embryo, strong expression is seen in the palatal epithelia, including the medial edge epithelial and midline epithelial seam of the palatal shelves. Less pronounced expression is also seen throughout the palatal shelf and tongue mesenchyme. |
Function | Binds directly to activin and functions as an activin antagonist. Specific inhibitor of the biosynthesis and secretion of pituitary follicle stimulating hormone (FSH). |
