Specificity: |
This antibody detects an 80 kDa* protein corresponding to the molecular mass of Synapsin I on SDS-PAGE immunoblots of adult mouse brain. |
Immunogen: |
Clone M365 was generated from a sequence corresponding to amino acids in the C-terminal region of mouse synapsin I. This sequence has high homology to human and rat synpasin I. |
Function | Neuronal phosphoprotein that coats synaptic vesicles, and binds to the cytoskeleton. Acts as a regulator of synaptic vesicles trafficking, involved in the control of neurotransmitter release at the pre-synaptic terminal. Also involved in the regulation of axon outgrowth and synaptogenesis. The complex formed with NOS1 and CAPON proteins is necessary for specific nitric-oxide functions at a presynaptic level. |
