Short Description: Rabbit polyclonal antibody anti-CACNA1A is suitable for use in Immunohistochemistry and Western Blot research applications.
Clonality: Polyclonal
Conjugation: Unconjugated
Isotype: IgG
Formulation: Lyophilised
Purification: IgG purified
Dilution Range: IHC, WB. A dilution of 1:300 to 1:2000 is recommended. The optimal dilution should be determined by the end user. Not tested in other applications.
Storage Instruction: Maintain the lyophilised/reconstituted antibodies frozen at-20°C for long term storage and refrigerated at 2-8°C for a shorter term. When reconstituting, Glycerol (1:1) may be added for an additional stability. Avoid freeze and thaw cycles.
Gene Symbol: Cacna1a
Gene ID: 12286
Uniprot ID: CAC1A_MOUSE
Specificity: Specific for CACNA1A.
Immunogen: A synthetic peptide from mouse CACNA1A conjugated to blue carrier protein was used as the antigen. The peptide is homologous in rat and human.
Function Voltage-sensitive calcium channels (VSCC) mediate the entry of calcium ions into excitable cells and are also involved in a variety of calcium-dependent processes, including muscle contraction, hormone or neurotransmitter release, gene expression, cell motility, cell division and cell death. The isoform alpha-1A gives rise to P and/or Q-type calcium currents. P/Q-type calcium channels belong to the 'high-voltage activated' (HVA) group and are specifically blocked by the spider omega-agatoxin-IVA (AC P54282). They are however insensitive to dihydropyridines (DHP).
