Short Description: Rabbit polyclonal antibody anti-SLC1A1 (150-200 aa) is suitable for use in Immunohistochemistry and Western Blot research applications.
Clonality: Polyclonal
Conjugation: Unconjugated
Isotype: IgG
Formulation: Lyophilised
Purification: IgG purified
Dilution Range: IHC, WB. A concentration of 10-50 µg/ml is recommended. The optimal concentration should be determined by the end user. Not yet tested in other applications.
Storage Instruction: Maintain the lyophilised/reconstituted antibodies frozen at-20°C for long term storage and refrigerated at 2-8°C for a shorter term. When reconstituting, Glycerol (1:1) may be added for an additional stability. Avoid freeze and thaw cycles.
Gene Symbol: SLC1A1
Gene ID: 6505
Uniprot ID: EAA3_HUMAN
Immunogen Region: 150-200 aa
Specificity: Specific for EAAT3.
Immunogen: A synthetic peptide from extracellular domain of human EAAT3 (aa region 150-200) conjugated to blue carrier protein was used as the antigen. The peptide shares 96% identity with rat and mouse sequence.
Post Translational Modifications Glycosylated.
Function Sodium-dependent, high-affinity amino acid transporter that mediates the uptake of L-glutamate and also L-aspartate and D-aspartate. Can also transport L-cysteine. Functions as a symporter that transports one amino acid molecule together with two or three Na(+) ions and one proton, in parallel with the counter-transport of one K(+) ion. Mediates Cl(-) flux that is not coupled to amino acid transport.this avoids the accumulation of negative charges due to aspartate and Na(+) symport. Plays an important role in L-glutamate and L-aspartate reabsorption in renal tubuli. Plays a redundant role in the rapid removal of released glutamate from the synaptic cleft, which is essential for terminating the postsynaptic action of glutamate. Contributes to glutathione biosynthesis and protection against oxidative stress via its role in L-glutamate and L-cysteine transport. Negatively regulated by ARL6IP5.
