Short Description: Rabbit polyclonal antibody anti-ABCG1 (350-400 aa) is suitable for use in Immunohistochemistry and Western Blot research applications.
Clonality: Polyclonal
Conjugation: Unconjugated
Isotype: IgG
Formulation: Lyophilised
Purification: IgG purified
Dilution Range: IHC, WB. A dilution of 1:300 to 1:2000 is recommended. The optimal dilution should be determined by the end user. Not yet tested in other applications.
Storage Instruction: Maintain the lyophilised/reconstituted antibodies frozen at-20°C for long term storage and refrigerated at 2-8°C for a shorter term. When reconstituting, Glycerol (1:1) may be added for an additional stability. Avoid freeze and thaw cycles.
Gene Symbol: ABCG1
Gene ID: 9619
Uniprot ID: ABCG1_HUMAN
Immunogen Region: 350-400 aa
Specificity: Specific for ABCG1.
Immunogen: A synthetic peptide from aa region 350-400 of human ABCG1 conjugated to an immunogenic carrier protein was used as the antigen.
Post Translational Modifications Palmitoylation at Cys-315 seems important for trafficking from the endoplasmic reticulum.
Function Catalyzes the efflux of phospholipids such as sphingomyelin, cholesterol and its oxygenated derivatives like 7beta-hydroxycholesterol and this transport is coupled to hydrolysis of ATP. The lipid efflux is ALB-dependent. Is an active component of the macrophage lipid export complex. Could also be involved in intracellular lipid transport processes. The role in cellular lipid homeostasis may not be limited to macrophages. Prevents cell death by transporting cytotoxic 7beta-hydroxycholesterol.
