Target Information

The BRD4 gene encodes a chromatin-binding protein that regulates transcription by recruiting RNA polymerase II. It plays a key role in cell cycle progression, inflammation, and cancer. BRD4 is a target for BET (bromodomain and extra-terminal) inhibitors, which suppress oncogene expression in leukemia, breast, and prostate cancers. BRD4 is also implicated in viral infections and inflammatory diseases.
