Short Description: Recombinant-Human IL-28B-protein was developed from cho cells. For use in research applications.
Conjugation: Unconjugated
Formulation: Lyophilised from 0.2 Mu m filtered PBS solution pH 7.4.
Dilution Range: Spin the vial and reconstite in distilled water to a concentration not less than 0.1 mg/mL. This can then be diluted into other buffers.
Storage Instruction: Can be stored in working aliquots at 2°C-8°C C for one month, or at-20°C C for six months, with a carrier protein without detectable loss of activity. Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles. NA
Endotoxin: Endotoxin content was assayed using a LAL gel clot method. Endotoxin level was found to be less than 0.1 ng/µg (1EU/µg). NA
Immunoreactivity: The activity was determined by a WISH cell viral resistance assay with a linear range of 4-20 ng/ml. NA
Gene Symbol: IFNL3
Gene ID: 282617
Uniprot ID: IFNL3_HUMAN
Immunogen Region: Mature chain
Immunogen: DNA sequence encoding mature chain of Human IL28B to a C-terminal polyHis tag was expressed in CHO cells. NA
Function Cytokine with antiviral, antitumour and immunomodulatory activities. Plays a critical role in the antiviral host defense, predominantly in the epithelial tissues. Acts as a ligand for the heterodimeric class II cytokine receptor composed of IL10RB and IFNLR1, and receptor engagement leads to the activation of the JAK/STAT signaling pathway resulting in the expression of IFN-stimulated genes (ISG), which mediate the antiviral state. Has a restricted receptor distribution and therefore restricted targets: is primarily active in epithelial cells and this cell type-selective action is because of the epithelial cell-specific expression of its receptor IFNLR1. Seems not to be essential for early virus-activated host defense in vaginal infection, but plays an important role in Toll-like receptor (TLR)-induced antiviral defense. Plays a significant role in the antiviral immune defense in the intestinal epithelium. Exerts an immunomodulatory effect by up-regulating MHC class I antigen expression.
