Background | FR4D11 reacts with high affinity to CD10 or CALLA, a cell surface enzyme with neutral metalloendopeptidase activity, inactivating a variety of biologically active peptides. CD10 is a 100 kDa glycoprotein, expressed on 70% of pre-B ALL-cells (common ALL) , but also on early lymphoid progenitor-cells in bone marrow and fetal liver. Other normal CD10 positive tissues include renal epithelium, fibroblasts and germinal centre B-cells. Density of CD10 antigen has been shown to be related to cell differentiation and may have prognostic value for B-cell lineage acute leukemia. CD10 is also present on breast myoepithelial cells, bile canaliculi, fibroblasts, with especially high expression on the brush border of kidney and gut epithelial cells. |
