Short Description: Rabbit polyclonal antibody anti-CBX4 (100-150 aa) is suitable for use in Immunohistochemistry and Western Blot research applications.
Clonality: Polyclonal
Conjugation: Unconjugated
Isotype: IgG
Formulation: Lyophilised
Purification: IgG purified
Dilution Range: IHC, WB (confirmed by recombinant protein). A dilution of 1:300 to 1:2000 is recommended. The optimal dilution should be determined by the end user. Not yet tested in other applications.
Storage Instruction: Maintain the lyophilised/reconstituted antibodies frozen at-20°C for long term storage and refrigerated at 2-8°C for a shorter term. When reconstituting, Glycerol (1:1) may be added for an additional stability. Avoid freeze and thaw cycles.
Gene Symbol: CBX4
Gene ID: 8535
Uniprot ID: CBX4_HUMAN
Immunogen Region: 100-150 aa
Specificity: Specific for CBX4.
Immunogen: A synthetic peptide from aa region 100-150 of mouse CBX4 conjugated to blue carrier protein was used as the antigen. The peptide is homologous in mouse.
Post Translational Modifications Ubiquitinated. Ubiquitination regulates the function of the Polycomb group (PcG) multiprotein PRC1-like complex. Deubiquitinated by USP26. Phosphorylated on Thr-497 by HIPK2 upon DNA damage. This phosphorylation stimulates E3 SUMO-protein ligase activity and promotes sumoylation on Lys-494, as well as sumoylation of other target proteins, such as HNRNPK.
Function E3 SUMO-protein ligase which facilitates SUMO1 conjugation by UBE2I. Involved in the sumoylation of HNRNPK, a p53/TP53 transcriptional coactivator, hence indirectly regulates p53/TP53 transcriptional activation resulting in p21/CDKN1A expression. Monosumoylates ZNF131. Component of a Polycomb group (PcG) multiprotein PRC1-like complex, a complex class required to maintain the transcriptionally repressive state of many genes, including Hox genes, throughout development. PcG PRC1 complex acts via chromatin remodeling and modification of histones.it mediates monoubiquitination of histone H2A 'Lys-119', rendering chromatin heritably changed in its expressibility. Binds to histone H3 trimethylated at 'Lys-9' (H3K9me3). Plays a role in the lineage differentiation of the germ layers in embryonic development.
