Production process

How recombinant antibodies are made

Producing a recombinant antibody starts with synthesising the genetic sequence that encodes the antibody of interest, rather than raising it in a live animal. That synthetic gene is then cloned into an expression vector and introduced into a host cell line, which is cultured to manufacture the antibody at scale.
