One of the biggest advantages of using rabbits instead of mice for monoclonal antibodies production is simply the quantity that can be extracted. A single rabbit spleen contains much more B cells compared to a mouse spleen. This means that the more antibodies produced from B cells, the higher the chance of finding the perfect one to clone for production.
