Additional Info
| Function | Cytokine that binds to TNFRSF1A/TNFR1 and TNFRSF1B/TNFBR. It is mainly secreted by macrophages and can induce cell death of certain tumor cell lines. It is potent pyrogen causing fever by direct action or by stimulation of interleukin-1 secretion and is implicated in the induction of cachexia, Under certain conditions it can stimulate cell proliferation and induce cell differentiation. Induces insulin resistance in adipocytes via inhibition of insulin-induced IRS1 tyrosine phosphorylation and insulin-induced glucose uptake. Induces GKAP42 protein degradation in adipocytes which is partially responsible for TNF-induced insulin resistance. Plays a role in angiogenesis by inducing VEGF production synergistically with IL1B and IL6. Promotes osteoclastogenesis and therefore mediates bone resorption. The TNF intracellular domain (ICD) form induces IL12 production in dendritic cells. |

Frequently Asked Questions
Common questions about Mouse TNF-Alpha (Tumor Necrosis Factor) Antibody Pair (STJAP00084)
This antibody pair detects mouse TNF-Alpha (Tumor Necrosis Factor, UniProt P06804) and is validated for mouse reactivity only. Both the capture and detection antibodies were raised against recombinant mouse TNF-Alpha protein.
This antibody pair is validated for use in ELISA. It is intended for sandwich ELISA development using the supplied capture and detection antibodies.
Both antibodies are polyclonal, raised in goat, and purified by antigen affinity. The capture antibody is unconjugated, and the detection antibody is biotinylated. Both are supplied at 0.5 mg/mL in PBS with 0.04% Proclin 300 and 50% glycerol, pH 7.4.
Both components should be stored at -20°C for long-term storage. Repeated freeze-thaw cycles should be avoided to maintain antibody integrity.
Sensitivity, detection range, and validated sample type data are not specified in the available product information for this antibody pair. Researchers should perform in-house optimization and validation for their specific experimental conditions.
