What is CD39
The ectonucleoside triphosphate diphosphohydrolase-1, also known as CD39, is an endonucleotidase that acts on the functions of the P2 receptor.
This enzyme converts nucleoside tri- and diphosphates (NTDPs) to monophosphate (NMP), thus removing any toxic extracellular ADP and ATP.
Furthermore, it participates in inflammation and suppression and takes part in the control of platelet activation. CD39 can be found on B-cells, most monocytes, and Langerhans cells.
