Short Description : Rabbit polyclonal antibody anti-AQP5 is suitable for use in Immunohistochemistry and Western Blot research applications.
Clonality : Polyclonal
Conjugation: Unconjugated
Isotype: IgG
Formulation: Lyophilised
Purification: IgG purified
Dilution Range: IHC, WB. A dilution of 1:2000 is recommended. The optimal dilution should be determined by the end user. Not yet tested in other applications.
Storage Instruction: Maintain the lyophilised/reconstituted antibodies frozen at-20°C for long term storage and refrigerated at 2-8°C for a shorter term. When reconstituting, Glycerol (1:1) may be added for an additional stability. Avoid freeze and thaw cycles.
Gene Symbol: Aqp5
Gene ID: 11830
Uniprot ID: AQP5_MOUSE
Specificity: Specific for AQP5.
Immunogen: A synthetic peptide from mouse AQP5 conjugated to blue carrier protein was used as the antigen.
Function Aquaporins form homotetrameric transmembrane channels, with each monomer independently mediating water transport across the plasma membrane along its osmotic gradient. Plays an important role in fluid secretion in salivary glands. Required for TRPV4 activation by hypotonicity. Together with TRPV4, controls regulatory volume decrease in salivary epithelial cells. Seems to play a redundant role in water transport in the eye, lung and in sweat glands.
