Background Inhibin alpha can form dimers either with inhibin beta A or inhibin beta B. These dimers are called inhibin A, or inhibin B, respectively. Both inhibin A and inhibin B inhibit FSH secretion. Inhibin A tests can be used in the diagnostics of Trisomy 21 and Trisomy 18. Inhibin B is a marker of male infertility.
