Gold labelled secondary antibodies
Conjugating secondary antibodies to gold nanoparticles is a technique, which has found a wide range of applications ranging from flow cytometry and western blot to scanning and transmission electron microscopy.
In this method of antibody labelling, colloidal gold particles are conjugated to secondary antibodies, which are used for binding to a primary antibody, designed to attach to a predetermined antigen.
The main advantage of this technique is the high electron density of the gold nanoparticles, resulting in contrasting dark regions when observed under an electron microscope. Different sizes of gold nanoparticles can be used for multi-labelling experiments and ELISA assays.
We offer a large variety of superb gold-labelled secondary antibodies.
