Note: | STRICTLY FOR FURTHER SCIENTIFIC RESEARCH USE ONLY (RUO). MUST NOT TO BE USED IN DIAGNOSTIC OR THERAPEUTIC APPLICATIONS. |
Short Description : | Sheep polyclonal antibody anti-TRPC2 is suitable for use in Immunohistochemistry and Western Blot research applications. |
Clonality : | Polyclonal |
Conjugation: | Unconjugated |
Formulation: | Lyophilised |
Purification: | Affinity purification |
Dilution Range: | IHC, WB. A dilution of 1: 1000 to 1: 2000 is recommended. The optimal dilution should be determined by the end user. Not yet tested in other applications. |
Storage Instruction: | Maintain the lyophilised/reconstituted antibodies frozen at-20°C for long term storage and refrigerated at 2-8°C for a shorter term. When reconstituting, Glycerol (1:1) may be added for an additional stability. Avoid freeze and thaw cycles. |
Gene Symbol: | Trpc2 |
Gene ID: | 22064 |
Uniprot ID: | TRPC2_MOUSE |
Specificity: | Specific for TRPC2. |
Immunogen: | A synthetic peptide from mouse TRPC2 conjugated to blue carrier protein was used as the antigen. The peptide is homologous in rat. |
Function | Thought to form a receptor-activated non-selective calcium permeant cation channel. Probably is operated by a phosphatidylinositol second messenger system activated by receptor tyrosine kinases or G-protein coupled receptors. May also be activated by intracellular calcium store depletion. Plays a role in mediating responsivity to pheromones that elicit aggressive and mating behaviors. Required for response to the Esp1 pheromone which enhances female sexual receptive behavior and to the Esp22 pheromone which inhibits adult male mating behavior. |
