DNA repair is the process enabling DNA from the parents to be inherited as accurately as possible by their offspring. It preserves the health of an individual, minimizes mutations and is crucial for the survival of any species. In most cases, damaged DNA can be repaired by removing the damaged bases due to resynthesis. Sometimes, the damage can be simply reversed, resulting in much more efficient way of dealing with common issues.
